the "meep" phenomenon.

You know what's really annoying? When kids at your school are real assholes who disrespect their teacher. You know what is even more annoying? When the news show up at your school wanting more information on this, and write a story on it -- most of which is totally blown out of proportion and not even true to the story. The most annoying thing, though, is when these news circulate the globe, and everyone is obnoxious because they think they know the whole story, when in reality, they're being just as much of asses as the two original kids who started this all.
Long story short -- two kids at my high school were being disrespectful to a teacher here. Calling him names, stupid stuff. They were using the word "meep" to harass him, which the teacher obviously disliked, so he complained to the principal, and then BAM -- the word is banned at DHS. But the students also messed with the teacher's car. So therefore, the teacher sued them. Chaos ensues. Local news and huge news stations send their journalists to the school to get the inside scoop and yet, when it's time to publish the story, they totally make up a new one almost:
(click here or here for videos about it). So what about it? Nothing really, except that this situation really gets on my nerves, so this is just a little rant. No need to read this if you don't want to, but here's my opinion: yes, it was totally stupid in the first place to ban meep, and then giving punishment for saying the word. The school administration screwed up on that part, and should have seen that it would backfire on them when kids would start saying it more just to piss them off. Instead, they should have punished the students harassing the teacher instead of banning a meaningless words. However, what's done is done, and that should have been the end of it.
But nooooooo, the news stations thought that this would be such an interesting and awesome story to write about, and arrive at our school, cameras handy, and interview students about what they think. It's funny how the students they choose are the lowlifes and morons that think they are so cool by saying the word "meep," and end up getting disciplined for it. (I repeat, I do think that it is stupid that you can get in trouble for just saying a word, but the news make it seem like these kids are little "angels" and that Murray
(the principal) is an idiot when in actuality, the real idiots are the douche bags in the beginning.) Plus, these news coverages can't even get the story right! They say that the word is banned because "a biology teacher felt threatened by a group of student saying the word, meep." Yeah, because people feel real threatened by such words. >___> HEY NEWS PEOPLE, how about something more logical like, the students were threatening to the teacher not because they were using the word, meep, but because they were harassing him, and messing with his car?! It's like, try and research this shit before you publish it? My band teacher (I LOVE HIM) is about to go ballistic on the media because of the crap they're producing and he wants write a letter to them explaining how stupid they are. The whole band is supporting him all the way, haha! It's funny, because they'd probably do a news report on that too. >___> And really, how is this story interesting in any way? Yeah sure, it's comical to some to find out that a high school bans a meaningless word, but for this piece of news to travel around the world?
(Literally, not exaggerating. It's been across the USA, and international countries like New Zealand, Japan, Germany, France, etc) It's a completely ridiculous story that should not have even made the news coverage. Aren't there more important things to report on, instead of focusing on a little Danvers story? What has the world come to? AND ALSO, the morons who started this think they are "oh so cool" for being famous. NEWS FLASH (hah, the news): YOU'RE NOT. Nao stfu and gtfo plz.
And hey, annoying netizens around the world, stop being such ignorant fucks and emailing the DHS staff. Sending a mass email to the faculty with the words meep does not solve anything! And if you think you're being a smartass, you're not. You're being a dumbass. And sending it to the MIDDLE SCHOOL is so lame too. It's like really, how old are you? As they say, act your age, not your fucking shoe size. On the Meep Facebook page (I KNOW. SO LAME TO MAKE A PAGE. The girl who made it is so annoying too. -____-), apparently there's like a 30 year old man who joined it and is giving shit to the faculty. It's like, honestly? The staff, especially the principal, is already getting so much shit from the idiotic people who I call my "classmates," and he does not need any of your unnecessary meepage. So, please follow the other morons and gtfo, kthx.
Ugh, ranting takes me so long, and I always get so fired up and start swearing. People suck.
